ARTIST

Palo Macho

Pavol Macho (1964) is the only artist within the Slovak glass art scene that focus on the medium of painted glass. He works with fascinating structures created on molten and dropping glass panels. Exploiting the transparency of glass he then paints on the plat surfaces in several layers on both sides, using colored glass glazes as well as lustres and tinctures of precious metals.
Palo Macho´s large panels have an exceptional pictorial quality. Sometimes colorful, sometimes predominantly grey composite pictures just lean against the wall or hang freely from metal frames and hanging structures. His works of art are not just pictures, but rather objects that possess their own space.
