Wang Yefeng's interdisciplinary practice is connected installation art, experimental 3D animation, sculpture, painting, writing and other media. His artistic practice is born out of an "intermediate" experience in a transnational nomadic existence. Interweaving the physical and digital realms, his work critically examines solidified identity formations, racialized genealogies of the other, and the alienation of people and things that exist in mainstream cultural and technological narratives. In Wang's narrative, bizarre digital animated characters challenge common cultural paradigms. They use playful language to confront and play with a stereotype from history. Through the imaginative non-human subject, they strategically seek to re-imagine the discrete subject and at the same time examine the historical consumption of representations of the other.
