ARTIST

Lene Bødker

I work with contrasts and find fascination in configuring and exploring the two- and three-dimensional universe of form and shape, combining materials like glass, aluminium, concrete, and lead. Exploring the character and expression of materials in a dialogue with the challenges posed by the sculpting process.
My work is characterised by the conflict and tension between weight/lightness, solidity/transparency, light/shadow, fragility/robustness.
My point of reference is the archetypes, which is manifest partly in the objects and partly in the interior and exterior decorations, often characterised by the encounter between an organic and a geometric idiom.
I find inspiration in architecture, feelings, nature and sensory experiences. I want to amass and create tranquillity, to conquer, to transcend.
