Katrin Maurer

I work on the premise that networks are characteristic for living systems, in a biological, social and individual sense. Main materials for my works are text and glass. I have been developing specific image-languages as medium for communication, where some projects aim more abstract explorations into the idea of language. My works for the Levant Art Gallery in Shanghai are coloured glass objects which have communicative forms in search for connection. The originally in wax modelled shapes refer to traditional vessel shapes as well as to communication tools.
